What Types of Rehab Programs Do UMR Plans Cover?

Your UMR coverage should include the following types of rehab programs:

• Detoxification: Typically referred to as detox, this is a short-term program that can help you get through withdrawal safely, and with as little discomfort as possible. Typical length of stay in a detox program is 5—10 days.
• Residential treatment: In a residential program, you will live at the center while you’re receiving care. Common features of residential treatment for addiction include customized daily schedules, multiple types of therapy, supervised recreational activities, meals and snacks, and either private or semi-private patient rooms. Typical length of stay is 28 days.
• Partial hospitalization program (PHP): In the partial hospitalization program at Design Recovery, patients attend treatment Monday—Friday, 9 a.m.—4:30 p.m. each day. An average day in our PHP usually includes several different type of therapy, a lunch break, and surf therapy, a gym session, or another holistic activity (such as art therapy or yoga). Patients usually remain in our PHP for 60—90 days.
• Intensive outpatient program (IOP): When you’re in the intensive outpatient program at Design Recovery, you will have the option of attending treatment either three or five days a week. Each treatment day is 9 a.m.—noon, so you’ll take part in either nine or 15 hours of programming per week. If you need to work or attend school, while you’re getting treatment, our IOP’s flexible schedule may be right for you.

Please note that our center in Jacksonville offers treatment at the PHP and IOP levels only. If your intake assessment reveals that you may be better served by starting your treatment in detox or a residential program, we can refer you to a trusted provider in the area. 

How Long Does UMR Cover Rehab in Jacksonville?

As indicated in the programming descriptions in the previous section, the amount of time a person spends in an addiction treatment program can vary considerably. Ideally, length-of-stay decisions should be based solely on each person’s specific needs. But in reality, financial concerns can also play a significant role. 

If you plan to enter treatment at Design Recovery, it’s understandable to want to know how long UMR covers rehab in Jacksonville. Unfortunately, as is so often the case when discussing insurance, the answer to this question depends entirely on the language in your policy.

Most inquiries about paying for rehab with UMR boil down to two questions:

Once again, these questions unfortunately don’t have easy answers. The amount of your care UMR will cover can be influenced by several factors, including:

• Which type of program you’re enrolled in
• Which services you are receiving
• If you have previously been in rehab this year
• The length of time you need to be in treatment
