How to Check my Aetna Rehab Coverage in Florida

There are a variety of ways to check your Aetna drug rehab coverage in Florida or elsewhere. These options include:

  • Visiting Aetna’s online member support portal. If you haven’t yet created an account for this service, you will need to enter some information about your policy, which should be located on your insurance card.
  • Calling Aetna directly. There should be a phone number on your insurance card that will connect you with an Aetna representative for details about drug rehab coverage and other parts of your health plan.
  • Reaching out to your company’s human resources department or your union representative. Depending on the size of your organization, or if you are a member of a union, one of these sources may be able to point you in the right direction.
  • Contacting Design Recovery. If you are interested in using your Aetna drug rehab coverage to fund your outpatient care at our center in Jacksonville, we can (with your permission) work directly with your insurance provider to confirm your coverage and verify your benefits.

Understanding Your Aetna Rehab Coverage Options

It’s no secret that insurance policies can sometimes be difficult to decipher. If you need help determining the cope of your Aetna rehab coverage–including which types of treatment are covered, what your co-pay may be, and how long the insurer will pay for treatment–the four sources listed in the previous section can help you find the answers you’re seeking.

What Types of Rehab Programs Do Aetna Plans Cover?

Your Aetna drug rehab coverage may fund treatment at several levels of care, including:

  • Detoxification: Commonly referred to as detox, this is a short-term program to help people get through drug withdrawal safely and with minimal discomfort. Detox programs are typically able to provide both medical and therapeutic support to safeguard patients’ health and help them manage their withdrawal symptoms. Once you’ve completed detox, you can transition directly into a residential or outpatient program to build the skills that will support your successful recovery.
  • Residential treatment: When you’re in a residential program, you will live at the center where you’re receiving care. Depending on your specific needs, you may enter residential care directly, or transfer into this program after completing detox. Treatment at this level usually involves full days of treatment, with a variety of therapies and support services, as well as nutritious meals and either private or semi-private rooms. Residential addiction treatment often lasts about 28 days.
  • Partial hospitalization program (PHP): A PHP can be the ideal option for people who can benefit from full days of structured clinical care, but who don’t need 24/7 supervision. At Design Recovery, our PHP is in session Monday—Friday, 9 a.m.—4:30 p.m. each day. When you’re in our PHP, you will take part in a dynamic array of therapies and support services, including surf therapy, art therapy, and gym sessions. Typical length of stay at this level is 60—90 days, but you may spend either more or less time with us depending on your needs and progress.
  • Intensive outpatient program (IOP): IOPs can be valuable sources of step-down support for people who have completed a residential or partial hospitalization program. However, prior treatment is not a requirement to receive care in our IOP. At this level, you will have the option of attending treatment either three or five days per week, with each treatment day beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at noon. This flexible schedule gives you time to work, take classes, and meet other personal obligations while retaining a connection to quality clinical care. Typical length of stay in our IOP is also 60—90 days.

Please note that, while your Aetna drug rehab coverage in Jacksonville may extend to all programs listed above, Design Recovery only offers treatment at the PHP and IOP levels. If we determine that you need detox or residential treatment, we can refer you to a trusted provider in the area.

How Long Does Aetna Cover Rehab in Jacksonville?

If you have Aetna drug rehab coverage, there is likely a limit on the length of time that the insurer will continue to pay for your care. Depending on the specifics of your policy, there may be an annual or lifetime cap (or possibly both) on the number of days you can remain in treatment. Before you begin treatment at our center, we’ll help you find the answer to this question.

How Much Will I Have To Pay For Rehab With Aetna Coverage?

The amount of money you will be required to pay for treatment, even if you have rehab coverage through Aetna, can be influenced by a variety of factors. These can include which type of program you are in, how long you remain in treatment, and which services you receive.

Prior to entering treatment at Design Recovery, you can expect to receive an estimate that includes how much Aetna will cover and what, if any, additional costs you will be responsible for.
